Brendan Rodgers is a contender for the Man United job.

The Leicester boss has 18 months left on his contract and has been linked over a move to Old Trafford.

The Red Devils will appoint an interim manager for the remainder of the season but if one of their possible targets seems to be available, they’d make a long-term appointment.

Mauricio Pochettino is also a viable candidate for the Man United managerial role.

Ernesto Valverde, Lucien Favre are also contenders for the interim role but Michael Carrick hasn’t been ruled out yet by the board.

Rodgers said: ‘I don’t take it as anything. It’s not real. There’s always gossip and that will be there until they appoint a full-time manager.

‘My commitment is to here. The culture here is about the development of the players, and that’s where I see it, even moreso in this period.

‘I respect you guys have stories to do and to create a narrative, but that doesn’t include me.’
