A 19 year old captain who led his team to the semi finals of the UEFA Champions League.
He is none other than Matthijs De Ligt. He is technically sound, a natural leader as was seen in the presentation of the Dutch League ceremony when he gave a speech, and he is only 19.
The defender is possibly ready to become one of the best in the world. However, he will not be doing that at Ajax as his move has been on the cards for some time now.
Most fans and pundits had already believed that he would be moving to Barcelona to join his teammate Frenkie De Jong but it would appear now that things could be otherwise.
Mino Raiola, his agent has had a stand off with Barcelona regarding the player’s wage demands and it believed Manchester United have swooped in with a £65million offer as well as a contract worth £350,000-a-week to lure the player to Old Trafford.
Reports are also stating that despite there being no Champions League football, De Ligt is prepared to accept the mammoth offer. What a scoop it would be for the Red Devils!
