Erik ten Hag not panicking over lack of Man Utd signings

Erik ten Hag has been able to make three signings this summer.

Erik ten Hag admits he is not fretting over the lack of new signings at Manchester United even though there are just three weeks left until transfer deadline day.

The club have spent over 10 weeks chasing Frenkie de Jong and there’s still no guarantees over the 25-year-old midfielder’s future.

Meanwhile, United legend Lou Macari unleashed a rant on MUTV to claim transfer target Adrien Rabiot isn’t good enough to play for the club.

The Red Devils have been able to make three signings this summer. They’ve already secured Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen and Lisandro Martinez.

Ten Hag told reporters, as quoted by the Irish Examiner, “When Manchester United is not performing, not winning, that’s normal.

“I would be more in panic when there wasn’t panic because we have to win. That is the demand. Still, I would say panic isn’t the right word. It’s more like, ‘come on, we have to act’. We have to think bright and do the right things.”

United have been criticised for acting slowly in the transfer market.

“Once again it would be my preference [if] we could be starting the process earlier, that’s quite clear but at the end of the day the season is long and you have to get in the right players,” he said.

“It’s really complicated but I think we are really happy with what we have done until now.”
