Jesse Lingard Tipped To Win His England Place Back With Present Form

Jesse Lingard has received a huge morale boost from his new manager.

After switching teams in January, Lingard scored a brace on his debut for West Ham United against Aston Villa.

He was impressive and impactful just David Moyes had hoped when acquired him on a six-month loan deal. Lingard showed his attacking pedigree despite going two seasons without playing much.

“Jesse is still getting used to us and us to him. We are thrilled because he made a difference. If he keeps on like that it won’t be long until he is back in the England squad,” a delighted Moyes told BT Sport.

“He made the team better tonight. I felt we were short in areas where we make chances, it is proved tonight that we needed him.”

Lingard fell through pecking order at Manchester United after the introduction of fresher talent. First Dan James took his spot on the wings and then, Bruno Fernandes made him non-essential in midfield.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer put plenty of faith on Lingard early on in his managerial career but did not see much returns. The England international lost his place in the national side and faced issues off the field which led to a lack of motivation. Now, it is good to see him flourishing again in a new environment.
