Manchester United ace's agent contacted by Inter Milan

The player has been heavily linked with a summer exit

Manchester United are expected to bolster their side this summer after after an underwhelming campaign last season, not winning a single silverware. Few players are expected to be sold in the transfer window in order to accommodate new signings.

One of the players that has been heavily linked with a summer exit is Matteo Darmian. He joined the Red Devils from Torino in the summer of 2015 and made significant contributions during his first two season with them despite not being a regular.

The 28 year old struggled to make an impression under Jose Mourinho and fell behind the pecking order last season, with the Portuguese preferring Antonio Valencia ahead of him. He just managed to make 16 appearances in all competitions.

The Premier League giants have already completed the signing of teenage full back Diogo Dalot from Porto few weeks ago which indicates that the Italian’s future at Old Trafford might be over.

Though his contract expires at the end of the next season and has the option to sign on for an extra year at Old Trafford. But the Portuguese manager deems the defender surplus to requirements and has been looking to shift him off the wage bill.

He has been linked with a return to his homeland with Juventus showing the most interest in him during the past couple of months. Another Serie A giants are also interested in him.

According to Italian transfer guru Gianluca di Marzio, Inter Milan are also enquiring about a potential loan agreement. They have already contacted the player’s agent over a potential move.

The Italian side are looking to bolster their squad this summer and have already made impressive signings like Lautaro Martínez, Stefan de Vrij, Radja Nainggolan among the few names.

They have prioritized signing a right-back as they didn’t sign Joao Cancelo on a permanent transfer and are now targeting Darmian. The club are willing to sign him on a permanent transfer but are not prepared to pay United’s asking price of £20 million.
