Manchester United Plot Clear Out Sale With Eight Players Listed

Manchester United is expected to hold a clear-out sale after this season in order to reinvest in more quality talent.

The club is under the new regime of the Norwegian manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Reports claim that Ed Woodward will hand out a £400m treasure chest to make the necessary additions this summer.

However, signing players could also mean a number of the present stars will be shipped out for the better good. Matteo Darmian, Marcos Rojo and Antonio Valencia are already on their way out of the Old Trafford. Juan Mata and Ander Herrera are expected to follow.

The Spanish duo is in the final season of their United contracts and negotiations have stalled in recent months. Both of their wage demands are far too high for the Red Devils at this stage of their careers.

Plenty of other clubs have expressed interest in whisking away Herrera from Manchester, including their local rivals, Arsenal.

Solskjaer might also be in line to sell off Fred, Alexis Sanchez and Eric Bailly. The trio has been the most disappointing for United this season, turning out to be inefficient pieces in a highly confident young squad.

In United’s quest for the Premier League title next season, it might not be wise to get rid of all these players at once. While many of them might have performed poorly in recent months, they still hold a key role at the club.

Herrera has emerged as a midfield general especially with Paul Pogba not exactly that reliable on the defensive end. Bailly was a star during his early United days and he could return to his old form if given the time to operate.
