To potential breakthrough star could be set to leave Old Trafford to gain more playing time.

PSV Eindhoven is eager to take Manchester United youngster Tahith Chong on loan in January.

PSV have reportedly launched a bid to sign Tahith Chong from Manchester United on a loan basis over the January transfer window.

The 19-year-old joined United’s academy from Feyenoord in 2016 and has since shot through the ranks, making his senior debut in January. With United’s options in attack wearing thin, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has started Chong in games against Astana and Rochdale in recent weeks.

According to The Sun, the Dutch side are keen to make an approach for Chong once the transfer window reopens in January.

The teenager is likely to be used almost exclusively in Europa League fixtures or domestic cup affairs at Old Trafford this season.

Chong has been championed by Solskjaer as a player being prepared for the future alongside academy graduates Mason Greenwood and Angel Gomes, who have both also received minutes since August.

The youngster plays in attacking midfield and is particularly notable for his hair. He’s featured in three games so far this season but doesn’t look remotely close to become a regular in the team. He will turn 20 in December so this really is a critical point in his career, there comes a point when reserve football isn’t going to develop him any further so he needs to make a move of some sort.
