Have United finally got their man in Ralf Rangnick?

Manchester United has not won the league title since Sir Alex Ferguson retired in 2013 which has brought about several changes in and around the hierarchy at Old Trafford.

Several managers have tried, yet failed, to bring back the glory days to the club with different philosophies and ideas of how football, in general, should be played.

The major target for United of getting closer to the English Premier League title looks further away than ever and winning a place among the elite of European football once again currently seems a long way off.

Though David Moyes got the nod immediately after Sir Alex Ferguson it was obvious the role was more demanding than he envisaged, as he was later relieved to make way for the Dutchman; Louis van Gaal, who took the role permanently into the 2014/2015 season. LVG was able to assemble a team of well-known, reputable players from all over the world which gave the fans high hopes of what was to come.

His tenure came to an end after his first season success where he finished in the top four but couldn’t keep up with it in the following season finishing outside the top four even though he triumphed in the FA cup, bringing home his only trophy with the Red Devils.

Moreover, the appointment of Mourinho had what has arguably been termed as the best post-Sir Alex Ferguson Era – winning three trophies in his first season. He then managed to finish second the following season which was seen as an improvement on the underwhelming records of their previous coaches.

This good run soon ended for him in the December as United were lingering around 6th in the league and a whopping 19 points behind league leaders Liverpool, before Ole took over the team as interim manager to lift the team which immediately took a positive turn with a winning run, which certainly rounded off their season perfectly.

He had his squad playing the United way and gave the fans some renewed hope before the Norwegian was appointment permanently, Ole was truly at the wheel.

Though, the former United striker, in his first full season at Old Trafford, showed glimpses of more progress with a top-four finish and four cup semi-finals, his second full season was met with questions as United were eliminated from the Champions’ League group stage before their Europa League final loss to Villarreal.

Though Ole left United a fortnight ago after their humiliating defeat to Watford, Rangnick was justly appointed to salvage the United’s season and get them competing at the very highest level once again

Before Rangnick, Ole’s United was one of the early favorites to win the league behind City and Liverpool, thanks to the acquisition of Ronaldo, but with few recent points dropped and inconsistent performances, United’s chance of winning the league have dropped behind Chelsea with odds at 150-1. But, United have the tools, the players and the talent to revert that, so if you are looking to get in the action it would be wise to look at the betting odds in the best sportsbooks and check all the great matchups coming up.

German managers have become a considerable force in club football over recent years with their successes in Europe’s top leagues and the UCL. Chelsea’s triumph in the Champions League last season has been largely down to the tactical prowess of Thomas Tuchel.

Jurgen Klopp on the other hand, has kept the German flag flying for Liverpool since he moved to Anfield in 2015 with impressive Premier League and Champions League success in recent times.

German managers bring the best out in the German leagues and German football teams have shown recently that their domestic success can be achieved in other leagues, and so it was no surprise when another Rangnick was announced to be taking over management of the team for the remainder of the season.

His record at sides such as RB Leipzig, Schalke O4 and Hoffenheim among others have led to questions being asked among the United faithful as to whether United have finally got their man.

It remains to be seen how his tenure turns out and as he has said in a recent interview, it will be difficult to turn down an offer if he was asked to extend his stay beyond the end of the current season.

However, from the lackadaisical play under the previous manager, the team is now playing with such intensity and compactness, it gives them an advantage over other teams with which was greatly evident during their recent games against Crystal Palace and Norwich.

Ralf Rangnick is currently shadowing the path of the previous coaches with a great start to his career at the Theatre of Dreams, but his team will need to be alert when facing their next opponents despite the herald of stars that has the German tactician.

However, with the rejuvenation of Arsenal, the consistency of West Ham, and the resurgence of Spurs under Conte, Manchester United will need to be at their best to clinch the last automatic qualifying spot for next season’s Champions League qualification behind Liverpool, Chelsea and Man City.

Dimitar Berbatov believes Martial should leave Old Trafford in the summer.

The French striker has struggled for minutes at Man United this season and clocked just 202 minutes of Premier League football.

He had his best goalscoring season in 2019/20 with 19 Premier League goals but since then he has failed to live up to the standards.

“I’m not surprised that Anthony Martial wants to leave Manchester United,” Berbatov told Betfair. ” He is fit and ready to go, but he isn’t playing games. Martial is a good player and other clubs will want him. I don’t blame him if he is looking to go somewhere else.”

“Martial should have an honest conversation with Rangnick, because that way the player will know exactly where he stands in the team and if he doesn’t like what he hears then he should ask to leave.

“Marital is in a difficult situation. Cristiano Ronaldo, Marcus Rashford, Jadon Sancho, Mason Greenwood and Edinson Cavani are all ahead of him.

“It’s a very difficult situation to be in, but based on my experience, Martial needs to look for an exit and restart his career somewhere else. He needs to go somewhere he is loved and respected, he needs to feel that the manager trusts him.”

Unsettled Man United attacker to leave Old Trafford in January

Since the arrival of Sancho and Ronaldo, attacker is struggling at Old Trafford.

Man United attacker Anthony Martial is on the verge of leaving the club in January amid all transfer updates. The Frenchman is unsettled at Old Trafford and he will be looking for a January move, according to Pete O’Rourke.

Martial joined Man United for around £58m, and he still has two years remaining on his deal. O’Rourke thinks that United’s “plethora” of attacking options has left his future in doubt.

Since the arrival of Jadon Sancho and Cristiano Ronaldo, Martial is struggling at Old Trafford. The future of the 26-year-old is uncertain. Martial’s form has been poor for some time.

The forward has scored just eight goals in 46 appearances in all competitions since 2020/21. The Frenchman has started in just four games and has played for only 359 minutes. Martial is not happy with his amount of playing time.

O’Rourke told GIVEMESPORT, “United have got a plethora of attacking options, they’ve got Sancho, Greenwood, Rashford, Ronaldo and there’s Cavani as well, so it seems like Martial is feeling a bit unsettled right now.

“He’s not getting a lot of minutes and he is possibly looking for a move out of United in January.”

Erling Haaland likely to leave Borussia Dortmund in the summer.

One of the renowned best forwards of this generation, Erling Haaland, will leave Borussia Dortmund this summer and there would be a huge battle among European clubs to secure his signature.

The 21-year old striker could transform any side and bring substantial goals in order to help Man United bring Premier League success.

Dortmund Club director Michael Zorc claims that they have no intention to sell the striker even for economic reasons.

“We’d like Haaland to stay,” Zorc said. “We don’t have to give him up – not even for economic reasons.”

He added: “I also saw the pictures and that looked a bit strange.

“I asked him what was behind it and he answered: ‘nothing at all’.

“Of course he will definitely stay.”

Zorc was also asked if £64m release clause will come into effect this summer if the player decides to leave.

“I don’t know,” Zorc concluded.

“Of course we would like him to stay in Dortmund over the summer … but we also know that under certain conditions he has the opportunity to switch and we will certainly have talks with him in the next few weeks.

“We have a long-term contract with him, so he has to take action first and not us. Everything would be cool for us if it stayed that way.”

Cristiano Ronaldo alone can make a difference in the Man United team.

The Red Devils are poised to finish higher than Arsenal this season despite losing to bigger clubs such as Chelsea, Liverpool and Man City.

If Man United were to win their weekend clash against Brighton which was called off, they would have gone higher than Arsenal in the league table.

Ralf Rangnick’s men have won their last three top-flight fixtures and Joe Cole truly believes the Ronaldo factor could make a key difference when the season ends.

Cole said on BT Sport: “There’s so much to be positive about the goalkeeper is outstanding. Gabriel and White have got it together, they’ve really nailed it.

“Then you’ve got the young lads. I think they’ll be there, or thereabouts. But if you ask me I think it’s going to be between Manchester United, Tottenham, West Ham and Arsenal.

“And I’d probably just go with United because of the Ronaldo factor because he’s such a genius and he guarantees you goals. He always turns up.”

The match is scheduled on Saturday if it does not get postponed due to the Covid outbreak.

Earlier, the first team facilities at Carrington were closed to minimise the spread on Tuesday in order to gain control over the situation. The squad has returned to training on Wednesday for Brighton game.

Graham Potter admitted his team had three or four cases inside their camp. The club is constantly in contact with the Premier League to discuss the Covid situation.

As per the reports of Samuel Luckhurst, (Manchester Evening News), a minimum of 17 first-team players in total would be available during the weekend, having been accounted for at the club today. Edwin van der Sar played down speculation to be Ed Woodward’s successor.

Current Man United chairman Ed Woodward is set to leave his role by the end of this season.

No replacements has been approached yet but Van der Sar has ruled himself out of the running.

With Ralf Rangnick’s arrival this December, there are plenty of changes needed in the red half of Man United right now.

“I don’t want to become the Wenger or Ferguson of Ajax,” Van der Sar said, speaking to Ziggo via the Mirror.

“I’m really enjoying working at Ajax but there will come a time I will leave.

“But our ambition hasn’t been achieved just yet. We want Ajax to compete more in Europe.”

“I am enjoying myself so much at Ajax, I still have two years left here,” Van der Sar told Dutch TV channel RTL7.

“I want to keep achieving things here with the club. I am sure that one day the moment [to leave] will arrive.”

Few players were expected to return for the Brentford clash.

Man United were supposed to face Brentford on Tuesday but a Covid outbreak at Old Trafford led to the postponement of the game.

Cavani who has been out with a tendon injury was expected to return for this fixture.

“Now it is too early to speak about that,” Rangnick said on Saturday when asked about possible changes at Brentford. “I will wait and see how the players have recovered tomorrow or Monday.

“Tomorrow, we will train with the players who haven’t played or only played for a couple of minutes today. The rest will need to recover. On Monday, before and after training, we can decide on that.

“I saw the Brentford game against Watford yesterday. They are another high-intensity team, maybe more physical even than Norwich were today. We need to be aware and prepare for that different level of intensity. But we have to wait and see.

“A few players are available again; Luke Shaw was in the squad, maybe Aaron Wan-Bissaka might be available for Tuesday, even Edi might be an option. But it is too early.”

Manchester United Continues to Build Up Its Game

Manchester United Continues to Build Up Its Game

United is now climbing through the Premier League standings.

Since Mourinho quit – a while back, the Red Devils have been trying to find their game again. The team has known quite a few successes ever since and despite a raw season, they have been heavily featured by bookmakers such as GGBet review. But this is not about outsmarting the soccer odds.

It’s about a team we all love. The Red Devils have taken quite a bit of time to restore their game back to an A level and while this has been a little annoying to most fans, it has been all worth the big wait.

Today, United is climbing through the Premier League standings and while some rough edges are still sticking out, they seem to have it mostly under control. Part of that is attributed to the arrival of Ralf Rangnick, the team’s composed manager, who has been able to look past the criticism of fans and even within the team and set the Devils back on the right track.

It was not easy to get back on track, that’s certain but Rangnick has shown everyone that it can be done with the right combination of commitment and determination.

Now, the Devils are still hunting for reinforcements to boost their game even further, and as they do, fans are happy to get their hands on a respectable play from the team. Sure, they can improve, but the process of United’s healing has already started, and it is a promising one.
