Marcus Rashford has left the country after clashing with Manchester United fans this week

Rashford has ‘left the UK’ to clear his head following a confrontation with supporters after United’s Champions League loss on Tuesday night.

Since missing a penalty in the shootout defeat to Italy in the European Championship final in July, the 24-year-old attacker hasn’t played a single minute for his nation. In the eight months afterwards, Rashford has gradually dropped down United’s attacking pecking order.

Rashford has gradually dropped down United’s attacking pecking order. To the point that he couldn’t start a derby match against Manchester City a week ago, despite the club having four attackers — Cristiano Ronaldo, Edinson Cavani, Mason Greenwood, and Anthony Martial — sidelined for various reasons.

The 24-year-old England international played the last 23 minutes of the European match but had little influence as the Spanish champions prevailed 1-0. (2-1 on aggregate).

As a result, United’s search for their next major prize has already reached its sixth year.

Rashford has had a tough season since the Euros last summer, netting just five goals for Manchester United in all competitions. In his previous two seasons, he scored a total of 43 club goals.

According to reports on Tuesday, Gareth Southgate may rest him for England’s upcoming friendlies against Switzerland and Ivory Coast.
