Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Confirms David De Gea Will Be In The Goal Against Huddersfield

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed David De Gea will be between the sticks when Manchester United travel to Huddersfield.

De Gea’s recent dip in form has affected United badly as he was responsible for at least a couple of defeats in the last couple of months. United took an early lead but a costly mistake from the Spaniard saw his fellow countryman Marcos Alonso reducing the deficit.

In the Champions League quarterfinal too the custodian failed to keep hold of Lionel Messi’s shot resulting in a goal which ended United’s Champions League hopes.

De Gea’s recent tumbles led to a lot of speculations but the United manager has made it clear he still has complete faith in his keeper. “I would think so, yeah, he will play.

“Sergio was injured yesterday so he didn’t train, he tweaked his knee, so and David’s been training well this week.”

“Ifs and buts and hypothetical questions, Sergio knows how highly I rate him.”

“What we discuss we don’t need to tell everyone if it’s positive or negative.

“David’s confident and looking forward to the next two games, he wants to prove how good a goalkeeper he is.

“Of course we do [trust him], he’s been fantastic this season. Towards the end now he’s been in the headlines maybe for the wrong reasons but he has to deal with that.

“The goalkeeping department are a fantastic group together, with Emilio [Alvarez], Sergio, Lee [Grant] and David. They are such a tight-knit group, so they’ve experienced better times than just now but he’s ready for Sunday.”
