Serie A giants are preparing a fresh bid for Manchester United ace

The Red Devils have already knocked off one offer

Matteo Darmian joined Manchester United from Torino for an undisclosed fee believed to be £12.7 million, signing a 4 year contract with an option to extend it by further 1 year in 2015.

The Italy International made significant contributions during his first 2 seasons with the Red Devils despite not being a regular starter for them.

But the 28 year old struggled to make an impression under Jose Mourinho and fell behind the pecking order last season, with the manager preferring Antonio Valencia ahead of him. He just managed to make 16 appearances in all competitions.

The Premier League giants have already completed the signing of teenage full back Diogo Dalot from Porto few weeks ago which indicated that the Italian’s future at Old Trafford might be over.

Though the defender’s contract expires at the end of the next season and has the option to sign on for an extra year at Old Trafford. But the Portuguese manager is prepared to let him go as he is not part of his first team plans.

He has featured in the pre-season matches as both Valencia and Dalot are injured but has been heavily linked with a return to his homeland, with Juventus, Inter and Napoli interested in him.

Mourinho even confirmed that the Italian full-back wants to leave the club and he is also determined to leave despite injuries to Valencia and Dalot.

Napoli are preparing a fresh bid for Darmian, according to the Daily Mail.

The Serie A outfit want to take him on loan but have already had one offer knocked back by the Premier League giants. Should they fail with their second bid then they will turn their attentions towards signing Tottenham full-back Serge Aurier.
