Sporting Lisbon Midfielder Denies Manchester United Transfer Agreement

Bruno Fernandes has killed all rumours of him agreeing terms with Manchester United for a transfer this summer.

Plenty of reports claimed that the Red Devils and Sporting Lisbon had reached an agreement for the midfielder but Fernandes denied it.

The Portuguese, who has racked up an incredible stat line of 32 goals and 18 assists in 53 games this season, told Record, “I’m with Sporting. There are no contacts with any club, at least as far as I know. There is a lot of talk, there are sure to be clubs interested but to this day, my focus has always been placed on Sporting.

“I’ve spent two intense years, I don’t know if I will spend a third year, I don’t know if I’m going to leave. No one knows the future. I gave my best – blood, sweat and tears for this club – and will continue to do so whenever I wear this jersey.”

This is not the worst sign for United since the 24-year-old has kept his options open for the future. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer can still manage to convince Fernandes of making the switch to Old Trafford before rivalling parties, Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain get a lead this transfer race.
