Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s has refused to blame David De Gea as Manchester United played out a 1-1 draw with Chelsea at the Stamford Bridge.
United started the game on a positive note and it took only 11 minutes for the home side to find the net. Romelu Lukaku found Luke Shaw with a delicious chip and the left back made a darting run inside the box only to find Juan Mata who didn’t make any mistake as he rolled the ball in the net.
Just when United looked to be dominating in the game a costly mistake from the Spanish custodian gifted a goal to the West London side. The United custodian failed to keep a long range effort from Antonio Rudiger and Marcos Alonso was there to convert the deflected ball.
Solskjaer said, “There’s no chance that anyone can blame him for losing many points for us. He’s been unbelievable. Yes, today he knows he could have had that shot, but that’s football again.
“I think David is one that likes to play games, of course I’ll have chats with him this week and I’m sure he’ll respond in the right way.”
“There’s many reasons. We’re challenging against good teams. Maybe it has been inconsistency. Today we were flying first half, on the front foot.
“We were tired towards the end, that’s for sure. We’ve addressed that issue before.”
