Latest update on Sir Alex Ferguson's health

Former Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson ‘awake and talking’ after brain haemorrhage.

The English giants haven’t released any official statement yet but few reports across England claim that he’s doing better.

The 76-year-old was rushed to hospital to undergo emergency surgery following a fall in his home at the weekend, with United confirming that the procedure had ‘gone very well’ afterwards.

Ferguson has been inundated with well wishes from around the football world, with United captain Michael Carrick adding a particularly touching tribute to his old boss on Monday.

Carrick: “I got a text on Saturday evening and I couldn’t quite believe it. It didn’t really sink in. I was just devastated.

“It’s one of them where you start hearing different things which is quite dangerous and quite disturbing.

“I just stayed calm and spoke to a few people at the club to get a bit of a rundown on how he was doing.

“It was a tough night on Saturday but i’m positive that he will pull through this situation”.
