Marcus Rashford has emerged as a surprise transfer target for Barcelona.
The Manchester United academy product is one of the hottest prospects currently and has been in red hot form for the Red Devils this season. The 21 year old has excelled since Ole Gunnar Solskjaer took charge and has been the preferred Number 9 for United.
The Mancunian boy came through various ranks of United and got his breakthrough under former manager Louis van Gaal. Since then he has maintained a steady graph of growth and has matured as a player over the last few seasons.
United are not ready to let leave their one of the prized assets and have been engaged in contract negotiations with the player. His existing contract is scheduled to expire in 2020 and a brand new contract alongside bumper pay rise is being taken place.
Should he put pen to paper to the new deal he would start pocketing more than £150,000 a week, more than double to his current wage. Barcelona are due to face United in the Champions League quarter finals and the club hierarchy would have another chance to scout the promising youngster.
