Jaap Stam confirms he would take up any role at Man United.

The former United defender has shown interest in returning to Old Trafford as the coaching staff if Erik Ten Hag gets appointed as the manager this summer.

Stam played three seasons with the Red Devils winning three Premier League titles, one Champions League and one FA Cup during his spell.

Erik Ten Hag is currently the frontrunner in securing the United job and would want some of his coaching staff to work with him at Old Trafford.

Robin van Persie, Steve McClaren and Rene Meulensteen have also been linked alongside Stam in the assistant role.

Stam has coaching experience with Reading and Dutch sides PEC Zwolle and Feyenoord.

Stam told Voetbal Primeur: “In principle, I am open to any role at Manchester United. I have enjoyed working and living there, and I owe a lot to the club.

“If I can help Manchester United in any way, I’m open to it, provided it’s in a role that suits me.”
