Cristiano Ronaldo could be offered a shock route back to Italy this summer with Napoli interested in him

Ronaldo has reignited transfer rumours after it was claimed that the Portuguese superstar would like to leave Manchester United this summer provided they receive a good offer.

The 37-year-old is adamant about playing Champions League football in his final two seasons, even if United will only qualify for the Europa League in 2022–2023.

With 19 consecutive seasons in Europe’s top league and 140 goals to his credit, Ronaldo has an astounding Champions League record. He is the competition’s leading scorer.

The former Real Madrid striker has made it known that he plans to continue playing after turning 40 in the hopes of representing Portugal in Euro 2024.

According to rumours, Luciano Spalletti, the manager of Napoli, is contemplating Ronaldo as a replacement for the departing Lorenzo.

Cristiano Ronaldo is rumoured to have told the club he wants to leave this summer. This is definitely not the news Erik ten Hag wanted to hear before his first season as manager, so Manchester United may want to start preparing for next season without him.

Even when it appeared that Ronaldo would stay, United was extensively connected with a transfer for Antony; nonetheless, I do not see him taking Ronaldo’s place as the centre forward.
