Ed Woodward Believes In Solskjaer Vision Despite Drop In Profits At Manchester United

Ed Woodward has once again voiced his support for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer amidst a torrid season for Manchester United.

Almost every weak, the Norwegian brings his job under question but speculation has been low over the past two weeks.

That might be because of a 2-0 victory over Chelsea prior to the  3-0 thrashing of Watford. The Red Devils climbed up to the fifth spot of the Premier League, only three points behind fourth-placed Chelsea.

Reports suggest that United have seen an uptick in commercial revenues by 7% in the second quarter but their net debt has risen by 23.2% to £391.3m. There has also been a 17% fall in operating profit to £36.5m, something which can be tied up to the absence of Champions League football.

“We are pushing for a strong finish in the Premier League, the Europa League and the FA Cup as we enter the final third of the season,” Woodward said.

“We have continued to make progress on our squad rebuild, with many changes in terms of players that we have brought in and players that have come through our academy; the foundation for delivering the long-term success that we are all working towards is in place as we implement our plan and our footballing vision with Ole.”
