Manchester United have officially announced the appointment of Erik ten Hag as their new manager from the end of the season until June 2025

John Murtough, Football Director, said: “During the past four years at Ajax, Erik has proved himself to be one of the most exciting and successful coaches in Europe, renowned for his team’s attractive, attacking football and commitment to youth.

Erik ten Hag’s contract is contingent on obtaining a work visa, however it has the possibility to extend for an additional year based on performance.

“We wish Erik the best of luck as he focuses on achieving a successful end to the season at Ajax and look forward to welcoming him to Manchester United this summer.”

Erik ten Hag said: “It is a great honour to be appointed manager of Manchester United and I am hugely excited by the challenge ahead. I know the history of this great club and the passion of the fans, and I am absolutely determined to develop a team capable of delivering the success they deserve.

With a squad in urgent need of a rebuild, the Dutchman will be faced with picking up the pieces at Old Trafford. It will also be up to the Glazer family and Richard Arnold to provide the manager and his team with whatever they require to succeed.

The Glazers, on the other hand, have a history of undercutting managers and giving financiers a veto over club decisions. That has to change.

We are excited about the future and are rooting for Ten Hag’s squad.
