Alejandro Garnacho did not come on against Burnley last night.

The young winger was an unused substitute in United’s 1-0 win at Turf Moor on Saturday.

Garnacho started United’s opening two games of the season but had to settle for substitute appearances in the last three games.

In the summer, Garnacho expressed his desire for the club to sign a new striker and link up in the attacking line.

Ten Hag further explained why Garnacho was not brought on against Burnley last night.

“He (Garnacho) was in against Munich and I thought our team was playing very well,” Ten Hag said, “so I wouldn’t change that tonight because this game was a demand to keep that organisation. That’s why I wouldn’t change.

“I don’t want to say if it is the right decision or wrong decision, but again there was a moment that was not on our side. I wanted to avoid that and keep this team on because they did well.”
