Erik ten Hag says it will take weeks before Casemiro and Lisandro’s return.

The South American duo has been out with their respective injuries for a lengthy period.

Lisandro Martinez has been out with his foot injury since September whereas Casemiro has been out of action since the start of November due to a hamstring injury.

The return of both the players will be a huge boost to the club and manager.

They are expected to be back in action in January but Erik ten Hag refused to give a timeline on their imminent return.

‘They are a long time already back on the grass and now they return back into team training but not fully, so partial,’ Ten Hag told a press conference.

‘Now they have to make the next steps and that may take some days, I think even weeks.’

Rasmus Hojlund who sat out against Nottingham Forest is expected to be available on Monday night against Wigan Athletic.

‘He will return,’ said Ten Hag. ‘He dropped out shortly before the game [against Forest] and so he was a little bit unwell before the game.

‘The day before we expected him to play and then he dropped out shortly before the game but he is back in training.’
