Man United escaped a narrow scare as they beat Omonia Nicosia 3-2 last night.

Marcus Rashford scored a brace and Anthony Martial once in United’s comeback win against Omonia Nicosia.

The hosts made a strong start as Karim Ansarifard scored the first goal in the 33rd minute.

But both Rashford and Martial rescued the team after an early scare as United trailed before half-time.

The victory provided an important three points as they lost their Europa League opener against Real Sociedad.

Manager Erik Ten Hag praises both Rashford and Martial for snatching the win last evening.

He told BT Sport: “A couple of things, especially more runs.

“We were too static and we have to make the opposite movement to get behind. That’s why also we make two subs in that time and they had really an impact.

“I think Luke and Marcus definitely (helped with that) but also Anthony Martial, of course, with 2-1.

“I think the subs really had an impact today and that is really good. That makes the team stronger.”
