Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag lauded Scott McTominay for his ongoing contributions to the team during the team’s recent win over Sheffield United. The Scottish international, who has been impressing with his goal-scoring skills, scored the game’s first goal in the first half, taking his tally to a remarkable three goals in just two matches.

Despite McTominay’s outstanding goal, Manchester United battled throughout the game. McTominay’s handball led to a penalty for Sheffield United, which Oliver McBurnie successfully converted. The thrilling match ended with Manchester United winning 2-1, propelling them to eighth place in the Premier League.

However, Utd fans were unconvinced by the team’s overall performance. While McTominay did find the back of the goal, his whole performance was met with mixed reactions. Yet manager Erik ten Hag was full of praise for the youthful midfielder.

“Scott McTominay is a very good finisher,” Ten Hag stated in an interview with BBC Sport.

“He arrived at the right moment and scored a good goal.” McTominay’s recent performances attest to his growing importance within Ten Hag’s squad.

With a derby against Manchester City approaching, all eyes will be on McTominay to see if he can maintain his goal-scoring run and make a huge impact in the coming crucial matches.
