Manchester United faces defensive challenges in absence of star defenders

Manchester manager, Erik ten Hag has offered an update on the injury conditions of Luke Shaw and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, giving some insight into the team’s defensive challenges.

Luke Shaw, has missed the team’s last six Premier League games due to injury after starting the first two against Wolves and Spurs. Due to Shaw’s absence, the Red Devils were forced to rely on loanee Sergio Regulion and recently signed Sofyan Amrabat at left back for the time being. While both replacements have done well, fans realize the importance of having an experienced figure like Shaw on the backline.

Unfortunately, Ten Hag’s issues have been worsened by the absence of Aaron Wan-Bissaka. The defender is also out with an injury, although his progress appears to be better than Shaw’s.

Ten Hag has provided some reassurance to fans as the club prepares for their coming league match against Sheffield United, stating that there is hope for Wan-Bissaka’s quick recovery.

Ten Hag stated: “Luke Shaw, I don’t expect him back in this block of games.

“For instance, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, I don’t think he’s too far away from returning into team training and so back in the team.”

However, the absence of both crucial defenders is undoubtedly a difficult challenge for Manchester United to overcome in their quest of success this season.
