The Player is in talks with the Red devils over a new deal

Juan Mata joined Manchester United from Chelsea for a then club record fee of £37.1 million in the January transfer window, signing a contract until the summer of 2018.

The Spain International has been a mainstay at the club since joining joining and played an important role during under the manager Louis Van Gaal. He also helped the team to win the FA Cup and even scored in the finals against Crystal Palace.

It was widely speculated that the the 30 year old could be sold when Jose Mourinho took over the charge of the Red Devils back in 2016. He was the one who sold him when he was the manager of the Blues.

However, the midfielder has won over the Portuguese manager since then and has been a key player under him. He helped the team to win the Europa League and League Cup.

He featured regularly for the Premier League giants last season, scoring 3 goals and assisting 5 in 28 Premier League games. The club also finish second in the league, their highest since Sir Alex Ferguson retired.

Though the Spaniard was not selected in the Spain World Cup squad as there was lots of competition in the midfield area. But he has started off the Premier League campaign well as he assisted Luke Shaw in the opener against Leicester City as they won 2-1.

Juan Mata could make a shock return to Valencia from Manchester United, The Sun claims.

The La Liga side want to bring him back to his homeland and will offer him a return if he lets his deal run out and leaves for free.

The player is in the final year of his contract with the English side and there have reportedly been initial discussions over a renewal.
