Manchester United booked their ticket to the semifinals of the Carabao Cup and stepped up for the silverware of the season.

Meanwhile, in another semifinal, Southampton will face Newcastle United. The Saints knocked out Manchester City in the quarterfinal. Newcastle have reached the semi-finals of the League Cup for the first time in 47 years, They knocked out Leicester City to reach the semifinal.
Four-time League Cup winners Nottingham Forest defeated Wolves in their quarterfinal and United overcame Charlton to reach in last four.
The semi-final ties will take place in the weeks commencing January 23 and 30.
After the quarterfinals win over Charlton, Erik ten Hag stated that winning the cup was the only thing that mattered. The Red Devils reached into the semis in 2019 and 2020 but failed short.
The two-legged tie will take place at the City ground first, followed by Old Trafford. Man City’s elimination has made it easy for United to claim their first trophy under Ten Hag.
