The former Ajax manager will be hoping that the Glazers can secure more investment.

Manchester United are now moving ahead in the process of selling the club owned by Glazers. The head coach Erik ten Hag looks for backing in the winter transfer window for his squad at Old Trafford, CBS reporter Ben Jacobs has told GiveMeSport.

The Red Devils owners put the Premier League side up for sale in November, having bought the club 17 years ago.

Manchester United Chief Executive Richard Arnold insisted at a fans’ forum in December, that the Glazers’ attempts to sell the club will help the club. It will fund the redevelopment of Old Trafford and its Carrington training ground.

The 51-year-old said (via Manchester Evening News): “When and in what form that investment comes remains uncertain, but I feel confident in saying it will be a positive process for the club because we all understand the capital needs that we have, in terms of redeveloping the stadium and training ground while continuing to build a winning team.”

The Red Devils have appointed The Raine Group who led the sale of Chelsea to Todd Boehly last year to oversee the process, with a deal potentially being in place before the end of the season.

Jacobs told GiveMeSport: “We have to wait and see whether the Glazers can lock in a sale and if that is a full sale or only a minority investment. Things are moving on that front. Any deal involving Manchester United, including their previous interest in Cody Gakpo, will be influenced by the fact that the club is up for sale.”

Now, Ten Hag’s main focus will be to secure a place in next season’s Champions League and they are contenders to get this. They will also eye some silverware this year. They are already in the good shape to achieve success in FA Cup, League Cup, and Europa League. They can find glory from these events.

The former Ajax manager will be hoping that the Glazers can secure more investment as quickly as possible so that the former Ajax manager can be backed with top-class signings during 2023.
