Man United are plotting to bolster their backline with two new central defenders ahead of the new season.

Manchester United are planning to sign Juventus’ Gleison Bremer and Everton’s Jarrad Branthwaite this summer. They want to boost their squad ahead of the new season.

New owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe is believed to be drawing up plans for the summer transfer window. Raphael Varane and Jonny Evans are likely to leave the club at the end of the season. Lisandro Martinez’s injury is also a major concern.

As per the reports of inews, the Red Devils are plotting to bolster their backline with two new central defenders ahead of the new season. They are looking to make a move for Brazil international Bremer and Everton academy produce Branthwaite.

Bremer has made 71 appearances since joining Juventus from Torino in the summer of 2022. He signed a five-year deal and penned a new contract in the winter to extend his agreement to June 2028.

Meanwhile, Branthwaite spent last season on loan with PSV Eindhoven. The 21-year-old has started 25 of Everton’s 28 Premier League matches this season. His contract will expire in the summer of 2027.
