Manchester United ace set to stay at the club

The player wants to prove himself at the club

Anthony Martial joined Manchester United from Monaco for £36 million, potentially rising to £58 million, on a four-year contract with the option of another year in 2015. Since then he has been an integral part of the team and is considered one of the best young talents in the world.

The France International started the last season off brightly and was regular during the first half of the season under Jose Mourinho. But since the arrival of Alexis Sanchez in the January transfer window from Arsenal, he found minutes harder to come by.

He still managed to score 11 goals and provided 7 assists in all competitions. He was also awarded the club’s Player of the month three times. However, the Forward missed the World Cup in Russia this year following a lack of appearances for the club.

It has been widely speculated throughout the summer that the 22 year old could leave the Premier League giants this summer after a fallout with Mourinho. His representative further intensified the speculations last month by claiming that his client is unhappy and wants to leave the club.

However, the Frenchman flew out with his team-mates on their pre-season tour of the US and the transfer talks went quiet. But in the middle of the tour he flew to Paris to be with his partner for the birth of their son, Swan, but he didn’t return back on him without informing the club.

This landed him in the Portuguese’s bad book as the manager claimed he had no idea why the player hasn’t returned yet and he was even fined for missing. But since then he has returned before the current season started and started in the defeat at Brighton last weekend.

Anthony Martial wants to prove himself at Manchester United under Jose Mourinho, completing a U-turn over speculation he would depart Old Trafford, reports The Sun.

He will now seek to re-establish himself as a regular starting name, despite stiff competition from Alexis Sanchez and England pair Marcus Rashford and Jesse Lingard.
