Dispute over squad selection continues as Sancho’s absence hits five weeks

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has chosen to stay silent about winger Jadon Sancho’s absence from the first team for the past five weeks. Sancho, who last played on August 26 in a win over Nottingham Forest, has not been named in the squad since the controversial exclusion against Arsenal.

Ten Hag first blamed Sancho’s absence on his lack of training performance, but that claim was soon denied by the winger, triggering a public spat and consequent disciplinary action. United officially confirmed weeks ago that Sancho would not be considered for selection until the issue was resolved, causing the young star to miss important games against Brighton, Bayern Munich, Burnley, Crystal Palace, and Galatasaray.

With the upcoming match against Brentford, it has been revealed that Sancho will be missing from the starting lineup, extending his absence from the first team. Additionally, questions have been raised about his availability for the Sheffield United match on October 21, which is a concerning situation for both Sancho and Manchester United.

When asked about Sancho during his pre-match press conference, Ten Hag simply ignored the reporter’s question, he said: “Nothing has changed. He (Sancho) isn’t available, so I have no comment on that.”

The lengthy absence of Jadon Sancho has fans and critics both anxiously awaiting updates on this issue. while wondering about the potential consequences for Manchester United’s performance on the field in the coming weeks.
