Juan Mata has been offered a new deal to extend his association with Manchester United, his father has confirmed.
Mata is one of the few players whose contract is set to expire at the end of this season and he is yet to reach a contract settlement with the club. The Spanish midfielder is believed to be on the list of a number of top clubs including Barcelona.
The Catalan giants are well aware of Mata’s quality and are a big admirer of the player. The player is free to negotiate terms with any clubs and a free transfer to the Nou Camp would be welcomed by the Spaniard.
The attacking midfielder has featured in 19 games in the Premier League so far netting two goals and assisting another two. Earlier United triggered a one year extension to buy some more time to negotiate terms.
Juan Mata Senior said, “Manchester United have offered to renew us, we are very happy
“But there are proposals from Champions League teams.
“Spain, maybe, but today is not the day to talk, it is not yet decided.”
