Manchester United are set to renew their rivalry with Leeds United in a preseason friendly in Australia.

The blockbuster showdown is scheduled to take place at the Optus stadium in Perth. United have been touring the USA as they have been the regular participant of the International Champions Cup held on the American soil.

The Red Devils last toured Australia back in 2013 when they faced the A-League All Stars at the ANZ Stadium. The rivalry between Leeds and United goes back a long way but people haven’t got the chance to taste the action and it will be an utter delight to witness two of the most iconic English clubs locking horns.

Since demoting to the second tier back in 2004 the Whites haven’t managed a promotion since then. They came close a number of times but failed to get past the ultimate hurdle. But this time under the tutelage of Marcelo Bielsa they are knocking on the door of an automatic promotion spot and things are looking pretty brighter for them.

Jose Mourinho’s side are scheduled to place two matches in Perth. They will take on Perth Glory on July 13 followed by the long awaited derby against Leeds United on 17th July.
