The Red Devils have struggled in the Premier League this season
Jose Mourinho prioritized bolstering Manchester United squad in the summer transfer window after not winning a single silverware last season. They signed Fred, Diogo Dalot and Lee Grant before the transfer deadline.
However, the Portuguese was not happy with the outcome of the transfer window as he wanted few more players especially a high profile centre-back and a direct, fast winger to complete his squad.
After losing 2 consecutive games in the Premier League, the Red Devils were looking to be back on track after winning three games in a trot in the league and Champions League.
The Premier League giants were looking to make it 4 on a run against Wolves last weekend and started positively after Fred opened the scoring, his first for the club. But they were held to a draw after they conceded a goal in the second-half, much to the frustration of the Portuguese.
They were also knocked out from the Carabao Cup by Derby County, after losing on Penalties on Tuesday.
Luke Shaw is raring to go against the Hammers and is eager to see a response from the club in front of the supporters. He has been one of the stand out players this season.
I feel like the team has been playing some good football. I think it was disappointing against Wolves,
the defender told MUTV.
I don’t think we were ourselves. We should be winning games like that, especially at home in front of our home fans. We were all really disappointed and we just need to pick ourselves back up again and keep going.
I think we had a few chances and, if you don’t take them, you get punished. Luckily, we didn’t lose, we still picked up a point, but that’s still not good enough.
”We were very disappointed as a team but we’ve moved on from that now and we have got to focus on our games to come.”
