Manchester United are currently having a busy summer overhauling their squad at the moment. The Red Devils are looking to sign a couple of players after roping in Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Swansea and Crystal Palace respectively.

With United keen to make a third signing, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has requested Ed Woodward to recruit Newcastle’s Sean Longstaff this summer. The United manager views the 21-year-old as a replacement for the ageing Nemanja Matic.

However, Longstaff won’t come cheap if United decide to make a move for him. According to Sky Sports, Newcastle have slapped a £50m price tag on the young talent. The Toons have already lost manager Rafa Benitez and attacker Ayoz Perez this summer and are keen on holding on to Longstaff.

Longstaff made his senior debut for Newcastle in December last year. He made 13 appearances for the club until being ruled out due to a knee injury in March. However, his meagre minutes on the pitch were enough to impress Solskjaer, who immediately urged the United hierarchy to acquire his services.

Manchester United To Miss Out Yet Another Top Player To Tottenham Hotspur

Manchester United To Miss Out Yet Another Top Player To Tottenham Hotspur

Manchester United are set to miss out on a second player to Tottenham Hotspur within the span of one week.

The Red Devils hesitated with the Tanguy Ndombele signing and Spurs ended up nabbing the midfielder for £55m. They have reportedly also agreed terms with another one of United’s midfield targets, Dani Olmo.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side had agreed to pay Dinamo Zagreb Olmo’s £35m asking price but Muchodeporte claim that Tottenham have held positive talks with the player’s agent, Juanma Lopez.

Olmo was one of Spain’s star performers in the European U21 Championship which he won for his country. He joined Dinamo from Barcelona in 2015 and still has two more years left on his current deal.

The report claims that Spurs are ready to conclude a £22m (€25m) deal for Olmo after acting fast on their interests.

The 21-year-old said, “We are talking about the best leagues in the world and they all have positive things. La Liga is something more special because for me it is home, with my people. But those of England, Germany and Italy also attract me very much.”

This could be another setback for United since they are reportedly only targetting footballers like Olmo, as per Solskjaer’s new transfer plan.

OFFICIAL: Ander Herrera pens 5-year deal with PSG

PSG have confirmed the signing of Ander Herrera on a 5-year deal.

Herrera confirmed his departure from Manchester United a few weeks before, thus ending his departure from the club. The Spaniard made 189 appearances for the Red Devils since his €36 million transfer to the club from Athletic Bilbao in 2014. Herrera amassed 20 goals and 27 assists during his stint at Old Trafford.

In his final season for Manchester United, Herrera made 28 appearances across all competitions, scoring three goals while providing as many assists.

While at Manchester United, Herrera helped the club win four trophies that include a Europa League title, an FA Cup title, an EFL Cup title and a Community Shield title. Herrera was named Manchester Unted’s Player of the Year for the 2016/17 season when he was also in the Europa League Squad of the Season.

Upon penning a contract with PSG, Herrera said, “Paris Saint-Germain is the greatest club in France. It keeps on improving and competes to win every possible title. I was looking forward to coming to Paris and to wearing those colours. I hope to continue to make history with the club. Joining this club is an amazing feeling.

“Paris is the most beautiful city in the world. I promise three things: work, professionalism and passion. I also promise to improve my French because I think that the language is very important for the team’s communication.”

Herrera is PSG’s third signing this summer. The Parisians signed Polish goalkeeper Marcin Bulka before signing Pablo Sarabia from Sevilla on a transfer fee of €19.5 million.

Things do not seem to be unravelling well for Romelu Lukaku at Manchester United at the moment. The Belgian striker is keen on embracing the exit door at the club, with Inter Milan waiting in the wings.

Lukaku endured a turbulent 2018/19 season, scoring 15 goals for the Red Devils in all competitions. United are keen on recouping the £75m fee they paid to sign him, while Solskjaer has already earmarked two attackers to replace him, as the Evening Standard suggests.

Manchester United have scouted Lyon’s Moussa Dembele for quite some time while Lille’s Nicolas Pepe also remains on the radar.

Dembele notched 20 goals in 46 games across all competitions while his Lille counterpart scored 23 goals in 40 games.

Manchester United Named Ole Gunnar Solskjaer As Full-time Manager

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is enduring a busy summer, with the club set to undergo a massive summer overhaul.

The Red Devils have already started revamping their side, having brought Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka for a combined fee of £68m. However, the club’s transfer activity is far from over.

English outlet The Mirror have claimed that the Norwegian tactician wants the United officials to complete two deals in this week itself. The two players in question are West Ham defender Issa Diop and Newcastle midfielder Sean Longstaff.

United are yet to table an offer for either of the duo. Apart from them, the Red Devils failed to convince Leicester City to part ways with Harry Maguire for a £70m fee. They are also negotiating a deal for Sporting CP star Bruno Fernandes in a range of £35m.

Why Romelu Lukaku Wants Out Of Manchester United

Reports continue to rage over Manchester United potentially cutting ties with Romelu Lukaku this summer.

The striker clearly wants to leave after drawing interests from Inter Milan and also stating his admiration for their new boss, Antonio Conte.

However, it is peculiar in a sense that the Belgian would just want to pack up and leave Old Trafford after only 2 seasons there. Belgian football expert Kristof Terreur explained why his compatriot might have arrived at this decision.

Speaking on the Transfer Window Podcast, Terreur said, “He’s been clear in his interviews he wants to leave. He doesn’t want to be second choice. That’s what he feels under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, he didn’t play that much when Solskjaer came in. He feels that he is second choice.

“Inter don’t have the money for the transfer. They can spend the money over a few years but that’s not what Man Utd want, they want the cash immediately and I don’t see them paying £75m or £80m. They can’t with their budget, so they will have to find a way around it.

“If they can keep Lukaku, Man Utd will be happy. If they can get the money, they will be happy.”

Manchester United submit improved bid for Leicester City defender

Manchester United have been advised against shelling out £70m for Leicester City’s Harry Maguire as he isn’t worth the money, according to former Arsenal striker Paul Mariner.

The Red Devils had a £70m bid for the Englishman rejected by the Foxes, who will not let him go for anything less than £90m. Manchester City are also said to be interested signature.

Speaking about the matter, Mariner said,

“Is he worth that money? Of course he’s not.”

“We speak about Van Dijk when Van Dijk went to Liverpool, was he worth that?”

“Well it proves that he is worth it because they won the Champions League and that’s a massive plus for them. But is anybody worth this type of money? We’re talking about defensive players.”

“So let’s go through his skill set. Is he a good one on one defender? Not bad. Can he get turned? Yes. Is he quick? No.”

“He brings the ball out from the back, yes, very good. Positionally what’s he like? He’s decent in both boxes.”

“That’s not £70m for me though. That’s when you start talking about elite central defenders in the world.”

OFFICIAL: Manchester United Sign Aaron Wan-Bissaka For £50m

Manchester United will need to bring in more new faces if they wish to finish above Tottenham and Chelsea next season, according to ESPN FC Pundit Ian Darke.

The Red Devils have already roped in Daniel James and Aaron Wan-Bissaka for a combined fee of £65m. However, Darke has insisted that the two players aren’t enough for United to achieve their targets for the next season.

“I think [Wan-Bissaka] will solve Manchester United’s problem at right-back but they need to do a whole lot more,” Darke said.

“We don’t know what’s going to go on with [Paul] Pogba, we don’t know what’s going to go on with [Romelu] Lukaku.”

“Plenty more business needs to be done by United because they’re miles off it at the moment.”

“[United won’t be] that near [to the top four with Wan-Bissaka and James], to be honest with you.”

“I think they need to tighten up the defence.”

“They’ve signed Marcus Rashford incidentally to a new contract until 2023, so that’s some more good news for Manchester United. I think you’re going to have to judge United, not now, but nearer the transfer deadline.”

“Let’s see how much business they can do remembering they don’t have the appeal of Champions League football to attract the marquee names.”

Manchester United have been surprisingly linked with a move for Dinamo Zagreb winger Dani Olmo since yesterday. Following the speculation, the player’s agent, Andyja Baru has commented on the rumours linking him with a move to Old Trafford.

“At this point, I can’t comment on it!”

“Serious talks start from today, ultimately decided by Dinamo and Olmo, of course.”

“I send all interested clubs to Dinamo and when the clubs agree a fee, I will come to agree on the conditions for Dani.”

“Dani can play for any club as he has already showed this at the Euro U21s. When we are talking about Manchester United, they have no such player as Olmo.”

Dani Olmo scored 9 goals and provided 12 assists for Dinamo Zagreb last season. He also put up impressive displays in Spain’s Euro U21 Championship.

Manchester United Offered Belgian Goalkeeper In Exchange For Paul Pogba

The latest reports claim that Real Madrid have offered Manchester United Thibaut Courtois in exchange for Paul Pogba.

David De Gea’s future at Old Trafford continues to be speculated upon as the Spaniard refuses to sign on any contract offers. He wishes to become the club’s highest paid player just like Alexis Sanchez but United are hesitating to meet their demands.

The club has made several offers and lately, they came up with a new and improved one. De Gea’s current deal is set to expire in 12 months and the time is now to make a final decision.

If the Spaniard chooses to leave for a higher paycheque, the Red Devils will take it upon themselves to sell him, instead of losing him for free next summer.

Duncan Castles said on the Transfer Window Podcast, “Manchester United finally made an improved offer to David de Gea last week. I’m told there was a meeting in London between Jorge Mendes and Manchester United to discuss whether they could find a solution to that longstanding impasse on de Gea’s new contract.

“I’m told the situation has not been resolved and the discussions are ongoing. But United have improved their offer.”

“I think he (De Gea) has three choices. I think PSG are a strong option as they need a goalkeeper of that quality and ability and they have an interest in David de Gea.

“Whether they are in a financial position to buy him this summer and to meet the financial terms required for De Gea to move there is another matter.

“Madrid? There is a definite interest there. Zidane does not have full faith in Thibaut Courtois.

“I can tell you that Courtois was offered to Manchester United by Madrid as part of their attempts to sign Paul Pogba, obviously if that was able to be put into effect then they would need a starting goalkeeper and De Gea would come back into that discussion for Madrid.
