Jose Mourinho has prioritized signing a left-back

Manchester United are looking to bolster their squad this summer after falling behind Manchester city in the Premier League this season. Their priority is to overhaul their defense as the club are expected to sell few players.

Despite having the most clean sheets and the second best defensive record in the Premier League this season, Jose Mourinho is not happy as he had to rely on auxiliary full-backs Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young and failed to settle on a consistent central defensive axis due to injuries.

Matteo Drmian and Luke Shaw are likely to be sold this summer and the Portuguese manager wants to sign two new full-backs.

Manchester United are closing in on the signing of Juventus’s Alex Sandro, The Times reports. The left-back is seen as the perfect fit for what is a problem area for the Red Devils, with Shaw out of favour and Young nearing the tail end of his career.

Sandro joined the Serie A giants from Porto three years ago for £22.9 million and has established himself as one of the best left sided players in the world. He is very versatile and can play anywhere along that flank.

The Brazilian has enjoyed another productive season, playing more than 40 games in all competitions and helping his side to win the Serie A title.

The player has been heavily linked with a summer exit this season with many top European clubs including United chasing after him.

It is said that United will have to shell out more than £50 million to land the 27 year old, with business likely to be concluded once both sides have played their last match of the season.

Jose Mourinho is a big admirer of the winger

Manchester United are expected to bolster their squad this summer in order to challenge for the title next season. Jose Mourinho is expected to sell few players to accommodate new signings.

Though the Premier League club’s priority is to overhaul their defense but the club is looking to add attacking options. The Special One has been left thoroughly underwhelmed by his attacking options of late, relying heavily on Romelu Lukaku.

Mourinho is very keen to bring Real Madrid ace Lucas Vazquez this summer. He is said to be a fan of his work rate, which he believes would slip seamlessly into the fold at Old Trafford. The player is known for his impressive defensive abilities from his attacking wing role.

The 26 year old has been at the La Liga club since 2007 and has scored 16 goals from 134 appearances in all competitions. Though he hasn’t been a regular starter for the club but has made impact whenever he came off the bench.

The Spain International has been impressive for the club this season, scoring 8 goals and providing 7 assists despite of limited chances. But the Red Devils could face stiff competition from their rival.

Manchester United are prepared to battle it out with arch-rivals Liverpool for the signing of  Lucas Vazquez, claims OKDiario.

Though the player claimed back in March that he is happy with the La Liga giants. The Spaniard revealed: “My dream has always been to play for Real Madrid.

“I am very happy at Real Madrid, it is the team that formed me as a player and I hope I can stay for many years.”

The Red Devils will turn their attention to other midfield targets

Manchester United are expected to bolster their side this summer after falling behind their rivals Manchester City in the Premier League this season.

Jose Mourinho has prioritized signing a world class holding midfielder as Michael Carrick will retire at the end of the season. The Club have already been linked to host of potential targets and one of them is Napoli’s midfielder Jorginho.

The 26 year old has been pivotal for the Italian team this season, linking the play between defense and attack. He has scored three goals in all competitions this season.

The Italy International has been linked to the Premier League for quite some time now and five Premier League teams including the Red Devils are keeping tabs on him ahead of the transfer window.

Manchester City were already considered the front runners for the Napoli star and has now received a huge boost in their pursuit of the midfielder.

Manchester United have ended their chase for Jorginho, the Manchester Evening News reports. Mourinho is understood to have placed alternative targets ahead of the midfielder after instructing scouts to draw up a list of world class midfielders.

The Premier League giants monitored Fred, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, Marco Verratti, Jean-Michael Seri and Arturo Vidal in recent months, with the Portuguese manager not ruling out the possibility of making two additions to his engine room as part of a squad overhaul.

The Forward has struggled for regular game time in recent weeks

Marcus Rashford burst on to the scene for Manchester United in 2016 as he marked his debut for the club by scoring two goals against Midtjylland in the second leg of the Europa League. He even scored two goals against Arsenal in his Premier League debut few days later.

Since then he has been ever present for the Premier League giants and has established himself as one of most talented youngsters in the world.

The 20 year old has featured in 102 of the club’s 117 competitive games, as both a starter and a substitute, more than any other Manchester United player under Jose Mourinho.

Despite remaining a key part of Mourinho’s plan at Old Trafford, the England International has struggled for regular game time in recent months. Since the arrival of Alexis Sanchez, Rashford has made United’s starting XI for a Premier League fixture on just three occasions, restricting him to only 408 minutes of top-flight action.

Former Manchester United striker Teddy Sheringham has hailed Rashford as an unbelievable talent and urged him find somewhere where he could play more first team football.

A man who helped United to treble glory back in 1999 told Sky Sports: “I said at the start of the season about Marcus Rashford that he needs to play games.

“He needs to learn what he can get away with on a football pitch, what he can do, what he can’t do.

“You don’t learn that by watching other people play.

“I don’t care how good the players are, it’s all about experience, it’s about making mistakes along the way and coming up against these players week in, week out and knowing how to prepare to play next season and the season after that.

“But if you don’t get the experience, you don’t get the chance.

“All you do is sit and watch and you make mistakes later in life.

“He needs to learn now, he’s an unbelievable talent for me, and he needs to be playing in a first-team somewhere.”

The Forward has been linked with a loan move in recent weeks

Marcus Rashford burst on to the scene for Manchester United in 2016 as he marked his debut for the club by scoring two goals against Midtjylland in the second leg of the Europa League. He even scored two goals against Arsenal in his Premier League debut.

Since then he has been ever present for the Premier League giants and has established himself as one of most talented youngsters in the world.

Since Jose Mourinho took over the charge of Red Devils in 2016, The 20 year old has featured in 102 of the club’s 117 competitive games, as both a starter and a substitute, more than any other Manchester United player.

The England International has been in good form this season but has found his first team opportunities to be somewhat restricted under Mourinho this term, starting only 16 games in the Premier League this season. Since the arrival of Alexis Sanchez in January, he has been mostly used as a substitute.

This led to speculations that the Portuguese manager could send the forward on loan this summer in order to get more first team football minutes.

When it was suggested to the manager that the player could be loaned out next season to gain more experience, Jose was understandably adamant that particular theory has no grounds.

“No,” the boss asserted, when pressed on any benefits of loaning Rashford out as quoted by Football365. “What does he need to do to impress me? He impresses me. That’s the reason why he was selected for every match of the season, absolutely every match of the season and that’s why he played in so many of them, so he doesn’t need to leave to play. He doesn’t need anything.”

The midfielder has attracted attention from Premier League clubs

Napoli midfielder Jorginho has been in great form this season, scoring 3 goals and assisting four in 35 appearances for the club in all competitions. He has established himself as one of the best midfielders in the league and his form has attracted attention from Premier League.

The midfielder’s representative Joao Santos has confirmed that four or five Premier League clubs are interested in him. Manchester City are one of the clubs who are keen to sign him according to reports.

Manchester United are also believed to be one of the clubs keeping tabs on the Italy International as they are looking to replace Michael Carrick, who will be retiring at the end of the season.

But the player’s representative insists that no approach has been made by the Red Devils for the 26 year old.

Santos told Radio Crc: “Jorginho has done very well with Napoli, he plays for the Italian national team, he is unique in his characteristics and for those reasons he’s probably being followed by many teams.

“At the moment though there are a lot of rumours flying about. The Napoli coach and players are being approached by first one team then another, but there’s nothing official.

“The last thing I read is that Manchester United made a proposal through [Jose] Mourinho’s representative [Jorge Mendes], but no-one called me.”

He added: “Everyone asks for information, but nobody has made any official offers so I can’t say which track is hotter.

“I’ve already been to all the English clubs because that’s my job, I get information. If he were to leave Napoli I can say that Jorginho wouldn’t play for any other team in Serie A, even if he didn’t have any release clause.”

The Red Devils are expected to make new signings this summer

Manchester United are expected to bolster their side this summer after falling behind Manchester City in the Premier League this season. Jose Mourinho wants to add reinforcements in key areas especially in the defense.

The manager is also planning a mass exodus as he is not satisfied with the performances of some players and wants to sell them in order to freshen up the squad for new signings in the transfer window, as he wants to challenge City for the title next season.

Marouane Fellaini has been heavily linked with a summer exit, as his contract expires at the end of the season and expected to leave the club on a free transfer.

Sky Sports Pundit Charlie Nicholas believes Manchester United will make a host of signings this summer and along with Fellaini, they are likely to sell three more players.

“Well after scoring the winner against Arsenal I’m not his biggest fan!,” Nicholas told Sky Sports, when asked about Fellaini’s future.

“He was one of the players who was brought in for the sake of it under a desperate David Moyes, but we can see he’s not technically good enough to stay at United.

“If they’re going to bring in a few other players this summer then you’d think he’d be part of the sale along with Luke Shaw, Juan Mata and Marcos Rojo.”

Jose Mourinho has no plans to sell the midfielder

Paul Pogba returned to to his former club Manchester United in the summer of 2016, on a five-year contract for a then-record for highest football transfer fee at £89.3 million plus bonuses of €5 million. He left the club to join Juventus in 2012, where he established himself as one of the best midfielders in the world.

The France International was pivotal for the team in his first season and helped the club to win the League cup and Europa League. He started this season off brilliantly and was a regular for the team.

But the 25 year old was benched following poor performance in the Premier League loss against Tottenham in January. He was also dropped for both legs of the club’s unsuccessful Champions League last-16 tie against Sevilla.

This led to reports about fractured relationship with Jose Mourinho and the midfielder was heavily linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain.

But Pogba fought his way back to the Starting XI and crowned the Premier League’s Player of the Month for April, scoring 3 goals and assisting 2 in 5 games.

Mourinho feels that the former Juventus star will be at the club next season  as the manager guaranteed neither him nor the club want to sell the star French midfielder.

I think he’s going to be here next season,” Mourinho said ahead of Thursday’s trip to West Ham, as quoted by Goal.com. “That’s my feeling.

“I can give the guarantee that I don’t want him to leave. I can give you the guarantee that the club doesn’t want to sell him and I can give you the guarantee that we don’t have any approach from him, from his agent or from any club.

“So, in this moment, for me, he’s staying.”

Manchester United will face Chelsea in the finals of FA Cup on 19th May and Pogba is expected to play a crucial role in that game.

Juventus want to lower the asking price for Matteo Darmian

The Right-back has fallen down the pecking order under Mourinho

Manchester United are expected to bolster their side this summer after falling behind Manchester City in the Premier League this season. Few players are expected to be sold in the transfer window in order to accommodate new signings.

One of the players that has been heavily linked with a summer exit is Matteo Darmian. The Italy International joined United from Torino in the summer of 2015 but has failed to establish himself as a regular starter for the team.

The 28 year has  fallen out of the pecking order under Jose Mourinho this season, the manager preferring Antonio Valencia ahead of him. The defender has just started four games and came as a substitute three times for the club this season.

Darmian is expected to leave the club as the Premier League giants are already looking to sign new full-backs. Serie A giants Juventus have shown strong interest him for several months and hopeful of bringing back the player to Italy this summer.

Only thing now needs to be done is for the Turin club to agree a fee with Manchester United. Jose Mourinho’s side have slapped a €20 million price tag.

However, Giuseppe Marotta and Fabio Paratici are working to reduce Darmian’s price to half, which could be €10 million plus bonuses according to CalcioMercato.
