Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic is reportedly worried about his future at Old Trafford. The Serbian has demanded a meeting with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to know whether he is still an important and wanted figure at the club.

Matic was a favourite at United during Mourinho’s reign but has struggled for game time under Solskjaer. The Norwegian has preferred academy graduate Scott McTominay in the defensive midfield role, restricting the 31-year-old to the fringes.

Matic is also said to be on the radar of several European clubs who are will to make a move should he contemplate leaving United. The 31-year-old’s teammate Alexis Sanchez is already on the brink of an exit with Inter Milan waiting in the wing.

Addressing Sanchez’s future, Solskjaer said,

“Alexis is a quality player, of course he is. We don’t have loads of options. If there is an offer that is good enough for the club and for him maybe he’ll go.”

“If not, he’s still our player and he’s a quality player. He’s been training well, as I said before, there’s no doubt about his quality either. So let’s see.”
