Ole Gunnar Solskjaer Provides Positive Fitness Update Ahead Of Burnley Game

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed Chris Smalling could be given some minutes of action when Manchester United host Burnley on Tuesday.

The Red Devils are currently on a high winning their last eight matches in all competitions and would be hoping to end the January on a sweeter note. The improvement in all aspects has been pretty evident and the former United forward has been the centre of all attention so far.

His fluent free flowing attacking formation has helped the likes of Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford to express their skills on the pitch and it has helped United immensely as they have gotten the better of Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal on their road to revival.

Smalling who has been suffering from an injury has made sufficient progress and could return to the squad while Marcos Rojo is unlikely to return. ”Chris has trained for a week now, so he’s looking good,

“It’s about when do we get him into the team.”

The manager also underlines the necessity of rotating his squad. “So far, it’s been no problem.

“We’ve got so many games. As soon as it becomes one game a week, it might be a problem.

”We rotate even during games. When we can put Anthony [Martial] and ‘Rashy’ [Marcus Rashford] on for Alexis and Rom, who did a fantastic job [at Arsenal], it is only going to help us. The players have been very, very good at staying ready and being ready when they get on.“
