Ole Solskjaer Wants To Keep Edinson Cavani At Manchester United

Edinson Cavani is an important part of Ole Solskjaer’s plans for the future.

Manchester United signed him from PSG on a free transfer and has seen solid returns.

Not only has Cavani put the pressure on Anthony Martial, but he has scored some key goals this term. United are second in the table and are fighting for silverware through the FA Cup or the Europa League this term.

Solskjaer wants to keep Cavani on for longer but fans would ideally like to see a younger and more prominent presence up front. The Uruguayan international could still be a solid presence as backup now that Martial is not performing up to the mark.

Discussing the Cavani situation, Solskjaer was quoted by the Mirror as saying, “We’re speaking to Eddy. Edinson is a top striker and whatever he decides to do, let’s see. We’re in good dialogue with him.

“We want a competitive squad and we need someone up there to score the goals for us. So we’re looking at it.”

Cavani has a great resume, having score a record number of goals at Paris Saint-Germain. He has also collected seven goals for the Red Devils despite playing very little this term.
