Manchester United legend Paul Scholes said that players like Ander Herrera should not stay at the club if they can’t make a simple 30-year pass.

The Red Devils had to come back from behind twice to draw 2-2 against Arsenal last night. Shkodran Mustafi gave Arsenal the lead in the 26th lead until Anthony Martial equalised four minutes later.

An own goal from Marcos Rojo in his first start of the season restored the lead for Arsenal. However, just moments later, Jesse Lingard scored his first goal of the season to equalise for Manchester United.

After the draw, Manchester United sit 8th in the league table.

Scholes criticised Herrera’s inability to make a pass to 30-yard to Paul Pogba during the match. Scholes said, “You have to question the quality of the player. Rio asked the question there when he said: ‘Is Ander Herrera capable of playing that ball to Pogba?’ Now, he’s in 15-20 yards of space, it’s probably a 30-yard ball – a simple ball – if he’s not good enough to play that ball then he shouldn’t be at this club.”

Manchester United have now gone winless in their last three Premier League matches. They will be hoping to put an end to that run on Saturday when they face Fulham.
