Alejandro Garnacho has been out with an ankle injury.

The Argentinian youngster has been out since early March and hopes to feature again under Erik ten Hag this season.

He is close to returning to the first-team squad and would be a huge boost for the club in the final few weeks of the campaign.

The 18-year-old recently signed a long-term contract till the summer of 2028.

Real Madrid has been tracking the Man United academy graduate despite the youngster signing a new contract with the Red Devils.

“I’m really keen to get back playing once again after almost a month-and-a-half out,” he told MUTV.

“I can’t wait to get back to Old Trafford and hear the fans chanting my name, it really gives me goosebumps.

“I’m desperate to be back playing. I’m back in training again, so let’s see when I can be back in the stadium helping the team.

“And we also have the target of getting into the Champions League, of course. And with my ambition and my will to win, I feel even extra motivated.”

The winger is back to training with the first-team and could feature in the midweek clash against Brighton.
