Ander Hererra to hold talks with Jose Mourinho to discuss his future

The midfielder saw his role at the club reduced last season

Ander Herrera joined Manchester United from Athletic Bilbao for €40 million in 2014, after the club activated his buy out clause. He has been a key member since then and has made 110 Premier League appearances for the club, scoring 10 goals.

The Spaniard played an important part during Jose Mourinho’s first season with the Red Devils and helped the team to win the League Cup and Europa League, which saw them return to the Champions league in the upcoming season.

The midfielder was also presented with the Matt Busby Player of the Year for the 2016/2017 season.

The 28 year old saw his role in the United starting eleven diminish over the last season and was left out the Portuguese starting XI at various points, starting just 13 of his 26 league games.

He is approaching the final 12 months of his contract and has been linked with a summer exit. But the player insists he has no plans to leave the club and expects to stay for a long time unless the Premier League giants decide to sell him.

But the Premier League giants are expected to invest heavily in the squad this summer and one of their top priorities was to sign a holding midfielder. They have already reached him an agreement for Shakhtar Donetsk star for £52 million, which could further push him down the pecking order.

Ander Herrera wants to discuss his future at the club with manager Jose Mourinho, reports The Sun. He is concerned with the arrival of the Brazilian wants to know where he stands in the manager’s plans for the near future.

But it is believed that the club wants to complete the summer transfer before addressing his contract situation. Former Chelsea manager is a huge admirer of him and doesn’t want another situation similar to Marouane Fellaini.
