Dimitar Berbatov has sent a clear warning to two struggling Man United signings.
The former Man United striker has singled out two players following their disastrous start to the new campaign.
Mason Mount arrived at Old Trafford in a £55million move from Chelsea has registered only one assist from his eight appearances in all competitions.
The Chelsea academy graduate has struggled with form and fitness since his big-money move this summer.
Berbatov said: “Mason Mount hasn’t started in the way that everyone expected him to. Man United spent a lot of money on him. He’s a really talented player but at the moment it’s not working, and he’ll know that. Everyone does.
“When he makes mistakes, he must keep going. Man United paid a lot of money for him so he has to keep going and prove his worth.
Berbatov has also asked forward Rasmus Hojlund to continue putting efforts if he wants to succeed at Old Trafford.
“Rasmus Hojlund, too, will know that there’s pressure on him to score goals. He’s not scored yet in the Premier League and that’s a burden on his shoulder. He’ll know that.
‌”My advice to Hojlund is to not over-complicate things. Just stick to who you are and what has given you success in the past. Work on your weaknesses and eventually it will pay off.”
