Erik Ten Hag looking forward to working under Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe has completed a deal to buy a 25% stake in Premier League giants Manchester United in a deal worth around £1.3 billion.

The 71-year-old businessman will provide a further £237m investment in the infrastructure of the club.

Dave Brailsford has been named as the director of Manchester United and saw the team stage an impressive comeback in the 3-2 win over Aston Villa.

Manager Erik ten Hag believes Ratcliffe’s arrival is positive for the club but it doesn’t have an impact on his squad.

I don’t think it has had an impact on the players. I was kept informed in the whole process, first by Richard Arnold [former CEO] and then Patrick Stewart [acting CEO], so I knew what was going on. We’re looking forward. I think it is positive for the club that they are stepping in.

“They have a lot of experience in sport at the highest level – F1, a cycling team, football clubs. They can only help us and support us to get our targets. They want to work with us and we want to work with them.”
