Erik ten Hag demands more from Rashford after his slow start

Marcus Rashford is struggling to replicate his last season’s goalscoring form.

The England international has scored only one goal in eight appearances this season even though he’s been averaging four shots a game across all the games.

He signed a new contract with Man United this summer as the club didn’t want to lose him as a free agent next year.

Last season, Rashford had the best season of his professional career scoring 30 goals in 56 games for United.

It seems the forward is not playing with the same hunger he had last term and manager Erik Ten Hag believes the forward could do better in the final third.

“I think he knows he can do better than he does now. He works hard and that is what he is doing. He will net, he will finish and it will come but it is not going to be automatic,” the Dutchman said.

“He has to invest a lot, the team has to invest a lot around him. Today, we were in the right positions but the decision-making was not good enough and then we don’t score.”
