Fondly nicknamed Captain Marvel or Captain Courageous by the United faithful, Bobby Robson was the first influential figure in Sir Alex Ferguson’s starting days at Old Trafford.
Robbo joined United in 1981 in a £1.5m deal and remained as the captain for the next 13 years at the club.
Robson is remembered for his efficient tackling, goals and above all, the unparalleled courage he showed on the pitch. He churned out a bunch of notable performances for the Red Devils and skippered his side to the first two Premier League titles in 1993 and 1994.
Robson made 466 appearances for the club and netted 99 goals, becoming a mainstay in United’s hall of fame.
