1. Roy Keane – 5 Greatest Manchester United Captains
5 greatest Manchester United captains
Roy Keane is one of the greatest footballers to have graced the pastures at Old Trafford. Apparently, he is also one of the greatest steals in United’s history.

Sir Alex Ferguson moved swiftly to bring in the Irishman on the eleventh hour when he was close to joining Kenny Dalglish’s Blackburn Rovers. Safe to say one of the Scot’s best decisions ever.

Roy Keane played with unrivalled passion and made sure his teammates reached impossible heights, courtesy to his inspiring words as the arm-band holder. He played many important games for United, but his emphatic display against Juventus in the 1999 Champions League semifinal immortalized him forever.

As a Manchester United player, he made 480 appearances and scored 58 goals. As a captain, he won four league titles, two FA Cups and of course, the famous Champions League in 1999.
