Wayne Rooney claims Kane ‘being held like a prisoner’ at Spurs.

The England captain has entered the final 12 months of his Spurs contract and is expected to make an exit from the North London club this summer.

Bayern Munich are frontrunners for his signature and have already seen two of their bids rejected with the latest being £70million.

Spurs president Daniel Levy has no intention to sell the 29-year-old forward to any Premier League rival.

Kane has been offered a new contract by Spurs that would significantly increase his wages but he will assess his options in the summer window.

Club legend Wayne Rooney believes Kane would be a perfect signing for Manchester United.

Rooney told The Sun: “Harry Kane would be the ideal player, for me, to go and join Manchester United. It looks like he’s being held as a prisoner at Tottenham! It looks very difficult for him to get out of there.

“If Manchester United have Harry Kane, then that gives their chances of going to win, and compete, a lot easier. But where that happens, remains to be seen.”
