Ighalo to return to China as loan deal ends

Odion Ighalo impressed in the Manchester United jersey after the loan this winter from the Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua.

The goal scorer fit in well with the team he has been rooting for since childhood, but despite the fact that the club wants to keep him for longer, he will have to return to China. His loan deal expires on May 30, this week, and negotiations between United and Shanghai have not borne fruit for the player to stay in England.

Shanghai insists they have Ighalo back in the squad before the end of the season, but the player’s wish is to continue playing for United. Things may change at the last minute, but at least for now it seems that Igalo is returning to China.

The Nigerian played only eight games for the “devils” in all competitions and scored four goals.
