Luke Shaw could return against Watford this weekend

The player has been very impressive this season

Luke Shaw joined Manchester United from Southampton in 2014 for an undisclosed fee thought to be in the region of £30 million, becoming the most expensive teenager in world football. He signed a four-year contract with an option to extend for a further year.

The full-back started off his career at Old Trafford in a positive way and was progressing rapidly. But his development was curtailed as he suffered a double leg fractured in the Champions League match against PSV and was ruled out for 6 months.

Last season was frustrating for the 23 year old as he failed to convince Jose Mourinho to give him a place in the starting XI and Ashley Young was preferred ahead of him. He just managed to make 19 appearances in all competition.

The England International was heavily linked with a move away this summer but the Red Devils decided to keep him. He even wanted to stay in order to prove himself this season.

Despite the club not getting off to a great start this season as they won only 2 out of the 4 games so far, he has been one of the stand out players. The player has featured in all the fixtures.

He was also rewarded for his fine start this season as he was recalled to the England squad and even manager Gareth Southgate hailed his desire. This was his first call up to the squad since March 2017.

However, the defender suffered an head injury against Spain last week and it was suggested that he could be out for at least 2 weeks, missing 3 games.

Shaw could play in Saturday’s Premier League game at Watford, a week after suffering concussion while playing for England according to BBC.

The guidelines allow a player to return earlier if seven criteria are met, and United’s state-of-the-art medical facilities are understood to meet the requirements.
