Luke Shaw Vows To Improve After Strong Display Against Liverpool

Luke Shaw believes he is yet to hit his highest level following his excellent display in the goalless draw with Liverpool.

The Manchester United left back was given the task to keep Mohamed Salah at bay and the left back did his duty quite delightfully not giving an inch of space to last season’s player of the year.

Shaw was destined to leave the club as persistent injury problems and his off form had sent him on the fringe. But from the start of this season, the English international has turned the tide and has been in red hot form on the left side of the defence.

His brilliant display was also rewarded with a brand new deal and the 23 year old has vowed to improve himself after a fiery display at the Old Trafford on Sunday.

On being asked if it was his best performance in the United shirt he replied, “Defensively definitely, yeah, but these are the games that you want to try and step up in, you want to try and prove why you’re here.

“You want to play against the best, you want to test yourself against the best and I want to keep doing that in my career.

“I’m still quite young. There’s always room to improve and that’s what I want to do, keep improving and see what happens.

“I think I’ve still got another level to come. I don’t think I am really at my best and I know what I can do when I’m at my best.”
